subtle sparkle

tonight, as i left work, the snow was sparkling so beautifully that i had to take a picture.  i know it doesn’t look like much, but this blog is about small happy stuff, so there you have it.

i had a brain fart this morning at work and forgot which program i was supposed to do at 9:30.  so, when the “wrong” kids showed up at the right time, i was pleased to discover how flexible and forgiving their parents were when i was #1-late and #2-not set up for the program yet.  they helped me set up the room and didn’t seem ruffled by my mistake (or at least not as ruffled as i felt).  i even learned a new song to sing while doing parachute fun activities from one of the moms.  i love it when that happens!

during the second class, one of my church friends showed up with her toddler and infant.  they’ve been coming to my library program for about three weeks or so now and i just have to smile whenever i see them.  i haven’t had a lot of opportunities to hang out with this particular toddler, and when i have, he’s not particularly chatty (although cute as a bug) so imagine my surprise when i heard him say “asa!” (his version of my name–i confirmed this with his mom) several times to get my attention.  i feel like a superstar in that class sometimes.  parents tell me how their kids talk about me at home and are so excited to come to the library every week.  i try not to let it go to my head.
