pretty fall things

today, i had a few spare minutes to rearrange the display shelves in my bathroom and replace the summery, light blue/green/white items with black, orange and decided autumnal elements.  these acorns are one of my favorite bits.  the lighting in my bathroom is horrendous for photography and since there are no windows, there’s also no hope of the light improving, so you get this interestingly stylized version of the shot instead.

i also took a few minutes out of my day to bake banana nut muffins with some old bananas.  they were the best kind of old bananas–they were very soft when i originally froze them, then, after thawing, they were both soft and liquidy and although it was disgusting to look at them in the plastic baggie, they make for a deliciously moist muffin.

even with these not-specifically-project-productive moments, i still got some work done on my ongoing fall project (at ma-cha, hooray!) and have inched forward ever so slightly on that to-do list.

other tiny wonderful minutes of the day:

actually doing some yoga (i always love doing this, but often don’t give myself time–too much sleeping in to do)

listening to the rain outside and thinking about how nice it is to hear this steady rhythm in the background of a day

lying in bed just barely awake this morning, under my warm comforter, cozied up next to my snoring husband, and slightly smooshed by two happy cats.

i. love. fall.
