fashion chronicles: in which someone tries to guess my age

IMGP5290a dear friend of mine loaned me a few of her threadless t-shirts and i thought i’d try something a bit funky and wear one with this (usually worn dressier) skirt.  i actually loved it and had so much fun wearing this combo all day.  although an elderly library patron asked if i was an employee and when i said yes, he said he’d thought maybe i was a high school student.  yeah, this 30-something mom will take that as a compliment.

We have twin shoes. Cept mine are grey. Love them! And your t-shirt is great.

yeah…I haven’t gotten that “Are you in high school?” comment in a looooooong time. I also can’t remember the last time my ID was checked to buy adult beverages. The gray hairs and kids nipping at my heels probably have a lot to do with that :)

p.s. I just realized that last comment makes me look like I’m the sort of mom who brings my kids to liquor stores. Yipes! I never do that (well, almost never. Sometimes if you’re on the way to a dinner party and have to bring wine as a host/hostess gift you just don’t have a choice.)

Thanks, Heather! Don’t you just LOVE those shoes? I find that I wear mine all the time. Kinda wish I had them in a few more colors, but teal is a suprisingly “neutral” color in my wardrobe (note, no other teal in above outfit…).

And Susan…. it’s Wisconsin. Most of the liquor stores we frequent are fairly family friendly other than the proliferation of towers of glass bottles filled with expensive liquid… But yes, I’m sure that if I’d had Gabriel beside me he would have never guessed “high school.” College perhaps…. :)
