sometimes you don’t appreciate the little things until they’re gone.\u00c2\u00a0 apparently, i accidentally unplugged the water heater yesterday, so this morning, when i woke up, groggy with the early morning, stuffy and coughing from my head cold, aching in weird places from raking the leaves yesterday, i realized with chagrin that the only shower available to me would be a chilly one.\u00c2\u00a0 mr. happy stuff quickly diagnosed the problem and plugged it back in, but there was no way the water would be warm before i needed to go to work, so i just jammed a hat on my head and shuffled, sniffling off to work.\u00c2\u00a0 i picked up 8 dozen donuts and two carafes of coffee in preparation for my monthly popular program, “donuts with dad” and idly wondered if i’d bought too many donuts.\u00c2\u00a0 sometimes i end up with more than a dozen or two leftover.\u00c2\u00a0 no worries.\u00c2\u00a0 today, we had record attendance–somewhere around 130 people.\u00c2\u00a0 happily, i now have a lapel microphone and a tiny speaker that helps me to be heard even in the back of the room without having to shout.\u00c2\u00a0 i think the program went pretty smoothly, all things considered.\u00c2\u00a0 and my favorite part?\u00c2\u00a0 my co-workers said they didn’t care if i went home early after the program.\u00c2\u00a0 so, i went home after everyone else had gotten their lunch breaks.\u00c2\u00a0 and i took a four hour nap.\u00c2\u00a0 and then i got my hot shower.<\/p>\n
