\"IMGP3157\"this year’s giving list was straight from pinterest.\u00c2\u00a0 before they came up with the good idea of “secret boards.”\u00c2\u00a0 my apologies to any family members following my pins.\u00c2\u00a0 perhaps next year i’ll just send the link out to everyone and tell them to “like” the ones they…. like.\u00c2\u00a0 anyway, here’s a re-cap of some of the things i made and gave this year:<\/p>\n

1.\u00c2\u00a0 wild olive’s peanut butter & jelly game<\/a> (i made 3 of these and added my own original packaging idea that incorporates a “snappy<\/a>” closure and some design inspiration from zaaberry<\/a>):<\/p>\n

\"IMGP3353\" \"IMGP3348\"\"IMGP3352\"2,\u00c2\u00a0 being brook’s felt road + cars set (i made one of these and forgot to get a picture of the drawstring bag)<\/a><\/p>\n

\"IMGP3171\"\"IMGP3193\"3.\u00c2\u00a0 delia’s i spy photo books <\/a>(i made about 8 of these.\u00c2\u00a0 some with photo prompts and others with text prompts for the nephews who are old enough to read.\u00c2\u00a0 these are so much fun to make and can easily be built on in future years.\u00c2\u00a0 plus, they’re fairly inexpensive.)\"IMGP3188\"\"IMGP3189\"4.\u00c2\u00a0 hand-knit cowls.\u00c2\u00a0 i got on a thick-yarn\/fat-needles knitting kick and whipped up 5 different cowls and got pictures of… one of them.\u00c2\u00a0 most of them were a simple seed-stitch pattern<\/a>, one was a rib knit and the other was the honey cowl<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 i really should have taken pictures.\u00c2\u00a0 in this photo, the cowl is doubled up.<\/p>\n

\"IMGP3244\"5.\u00c2\u00a0 Costumes!\u00c2\u00a0 I sewed these construction vests<\/a> (and found hats after halloween), plus I also sewed up some pirate vests to go with the pirate hats, and i sewed some chef hats.\u00c2\u00a0 the older cousins had requested “knight” costumes.\u00c2\u00a0 amazingly, i found 2 knight helmets in shops and i made 2 felt “tunics” that they can easily pull over their heads for dress-up.\u00c2\u00a0 sorry, no photos.\"IMGP3030\"6. Probably my favorite handmade kid gift this year was the fort kits<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 i made three of them (and have supplies to make a fourth for the happy little dude) and screen printed the label onto a pillowcase that then became the carrying bag for the whole kit.\u00c2\u00a0 you can see the contents in the picture below.\u00c2\u00a0 the smaller drawstring bag is what everything (except the sheets) got put into.\u00c2\u00a0 All three were immediately used as soon as they were opened (and explained).\u00c2\u00a0 The clip-on lights were quite popular.\u00c2\u00a0 i used the suggestion in the comments to sew channels in the corners and middles of each side of the sheet, then kids can just run their rope or bungee cord through the channel.\u00c2\u00a0 brilliant!<\/p>\n
